The goal difference for the hockey 9's- CHOGM

Taking the field before our final vs Australia

Results from CHOGM Australia

Our tour to Perth was a successful one. We were a young team, but showed we could match it with Australia's best.
The CHOGM 9 aside tournament was fast paced with lots of goals.
We beat India in our opening game 6-3, lost to Aussie (got thrashed) 7-1, and drew 1-1 with Pakistan. This meant we would face Australia again in the final.
In the final, we were down 3-2 at half time and equalised just after the break. Unfortunately, the fast pace of the game, and our minimal subs (due to injuries) found us run out of gas and Australia capitalised on this to score 2 late goals, and take the title 5 goals to 3.
This style of hockey was completely new to us, and was great for spectators with lots of goals and minimal stoppages. Hopefully we will see more tournaments evolve of this nature (rumours have it India are going to start up a league- and pump some big money in to it). We were all asked what new rules, or tweaking of the rules we would like to see in the game, so there will be some changes to the next 9 aside tournament.
